Japanese retailer Uniqo has officially begun producing its clothing line in gear mode, according to its website.
Uniqo says it will be producing a range of garments in the apparel industry with a focus on the “fashion industry,” but also other segments such as the “consumer goods and home goods industry.”
It is not clear when or where the new line will be available.
It’s not the first time the retailer has gone into gear.
In 2017, it launched a line of jeans in the same fashion as its other clothing lines.
This new line has been in the works for some time, and the retailer said in a statement that the move was “a natural evolution.”
Uniqos clothing line will not be able to compete with brands like Uniqla, the parent company of Uniqra, but it will help it compete against the likes of J.
Crew, Forever 21 and Banana Republic.
